Whanau Day

Whanau Day At Oratia 

9:00-10:00

At Nine O'clock My nana Came to school With me because Incase you didn't know here at oratia we had a whanau day I took Her To my class Because the bell was about to ring and There was no point In taking her around the school.The bell had rang So I had got my maths and sat down on the mat we did the roll.

After We Had done the roll I went to show My nana around the class there was a couple of activities to do so we did some then I showed her my books.After  a while We got bored so we went down to the bike track And did some riding.It was Ten O'clock So my nana Had to go to my brothers class

My nana had left so I had a break before my grandma Came to me 

We had A shared morning tea So I had some food and then My grandma arrived so I took her a round the class and then we went over to the hall to have a look at the calendar Art When we came back Everybody Was playing games so I joined in After that it was morning tea time so all our whanau went home And that was the end of whanau day

On saturday it was Milton's 

birthday party and we did a ton of stuff he is now eleven years old me and lewis stayed the night. Overall there were 7 People there Me,lewis,Noah,Kingston,jack ,Milton(of course) and Liam.

First of all we played tag  around the Whole house And I loved it I had a lot of fun playing Tag But we all got a bit bored of it  so We moved on we made up a game that someone would hide the keys to the prize and everybody  would have to find them but The person that hid them was tagging you and you only had five lifes .

After ten rounds of that we were all bored We then played darts (I seemed to suck ) after darts we had dinner we had pizza I had Meat lovers and hawaiian ( yum ) 

After dinner we played bean boozled and asked Milton some questions And a quiz.

These holidays I went up to matakana With My Mum, Brother's, Auntie,Cousin and Grandad We were Staying on a farm In a little Cottage .

The little Cottage Had Seven bed's For all of us To sleep in. Me My brother's and My Cousin All slept In a loft Which is really cool and We had like a fold down ladder. I Think I enjoyed matakana the most .

In the holiday's I also Played A game with my 

Brother's on Our lawn I had a lot of Fun I also Went to jump with some of my Friend's and  then we Went out to Genghis khan for lunch  Which  was really yummy.

Novel Study

This term we have started novel study. Novel study is something that we do for reading.We started week one of term two,when we all picked a book to read for the following week. 

There were a couple of Choices there were:Terrortide,The bone sparrow,The phantom of terawhiti,Cry of the taniwha,Return of the secret garden,How to bee,Catching the falling stars,When the kehua calls,Free lance and the field of blood,Blueback and Tough enough all of these are really good books from what i've heard

The Holidays have just finished and Most People are back at School I will tell you about Some of the Things I did in my amazing,fun,Exciting,Entertaining and Sometimes boring holiday.

The first thing  that I can remember is the Sailing . Incase you didn't Know I Do quite a bit of Sailing I have recently Brought a optimist this is a type of sail boat here is a picture   
I love Sailing because  it is Very Peaceful and relaxing and other times  it is rough and fast .

One other thing I did was Pretty much the funnest thing I did  aws Sleep in the tree house for one night  Which was awesome  because  it was just me and my brother we have lights a radio and a solar panel  that supplies that power to the battery  the best part was that in the morning My dad  came down to Check on  us and he brought both of us  hot chocolate and when we got up to the house he made us pancakes


There both of my favorite I hope you had a fun holiday and lots of amazing,fun,Exciting,Entertaining and some times boring holiday

My Term One Reflection

Cross Contry

Today the whole School had cross country it  was really fun I came ninth place Kingston came first,Maceo second ,Monty third,Milton fourth ,Noah fifth and Noah duffin Sixth . 

Cross Country is a fun Event that you do at your School  It is a long run It gets longer the Older you are if you are 5 or 6 you do about one kilometer  of running if you are 7,8 or 9 you do about 2 kilometers and  If you are 10 or 11 you ran 3 laps which is about 3 and a half Kilometers Which is alot for me 

When I did it I had a really bad stitch and sore achilles Which didn't help I was really proud of myself Taking I had some obstacles. 7,8,9 and 10th place are Reserves 1,2,3,4,5 and 6th place actually go to the event you have to be 8 or over to go to the Event 

my brother Came first  place in the 8 year old so that means he goes to the race on the day. I really Wanted to go 

Hells pizza Reading challenge

Today at School we got given the hells pizza reading challenge and Basically It is a Challenge and what you have to do is Once you have read seven books and they are checked by the Teacher and properly Stamped 



after that you can go to Hells pizza and get a free pizza I think this is cool because you can inspire kids to read more because they have modivation

Term one art

This Term we have been doing alot of art here is some of the art we have been doing Watch my slide and it will show you how to do the art as well and I hope you will do some creative art  

Country fair

This weekend we had the oratia country fair and there were about twenty stalls and rides here are some there was a strong man comp on the field (that was my class stall )There was a nacho stall witch was my brothers stall and there was a laser race,blow up slide,quick fire raffle,fishing comp,Jolly jas and cakes 


In my stall we did a strongman comp there were four challenges the first one was atlas stones were you had to lift a 10,12 and 23 kg ball as fast as you could I got 21 seconds only because the 23 kg ball slipped out of my hand and I stopped for about 5 seconds to look back because I thought that one of the balls was going to fall off

I really liked the fair because it had a lot of stalls and activities to do and bye. This was the last time I was going to have a class stall at the fair because it is my last year at primary school .I loved the fair  

Hpe-T-ball

Last week at School we did Hpe ,Hpe stands for health and physical education. for this time we did a game of t-ball.We had the non competitive and competitive group I was in the competitive Group.I like hpe 

Here's how you play your going to need a T-ball stand,bat,ball,Four bases and gloves  then you need to split into two teams  after that you need to decide who going to be the batting and fielding team.set the  bases in a big diamond shape and place T-ball stand at one end  of the  shape.If you are the fielding team you are aloud to have three people in the diamond at all times and you  also need  a backstop to stop the ball and get people out the people on the bases are trying to also get people out. The people on the bases have to have their foot on the base at all times.They have to catch the batter out once the batter is out  The next person in the line bats.To get a home run you have to run around all the bases(make sure you touch the bases) a home run is worth five points  you can not have two people on a base.

 Last week we had a Interschool Swimming comp I was in it was on thursday and there were seven schools there  it was a big Event the first race was  freestyle A and B  Team year six girls then there was the Year six boys

Surf safe and swimming

                              Today at swimming we learnt .....

How to make waves in simulation of the sea  to practice swimming  in ocean conditions so if we go out to the beach we know what it feels like If we do go!

We also learnt about surf sense which is basically staying safe at the beach we learnt all about what a lifeguards roll is,from what i've learnt so far a lifeguards job is to monitor the hole beach  not just the flagged area.
